Trading without time constraints
I don’t know about you.
But I struggle to find enough hours in the day.
I’m not suggesting that my life is filled with a continuous string of high-level meetings in far-flung places …. But I do have to get through the usual work commitments … emails … phone calls … take out the bins … do your homework … don’t talk to your mother like that … and why didn’t you tell anyone you needed your hockey kit today?
And, of course, there’s the small matter of my trading to fit in too.
You’d think that with a job like mine, where I’m stuck at my trading screen for much of the day, I’d have no problems following the markets and getting my trades on.
Think again.
Crucial moments in the markets have an uncanny knack of occurring while I’m on a phone call … in a meeting … or waiting for the kettle to boil and thinking about whether to go for a custard cream or a Hobnob with my coffee … (who am I kidding – it’s always a Hobnob!)
I’ve said it many times – in the markets, timing is everything.
Getting your entry pinpointed to the perfect moment can make the difference between a winning and a losing strategy.
Right?
Well, that’s what I (and many traders before me) thought.
Yet, getting the timing right is the bane of my life.
And, talking to other traders (many of whom have a lot less time than I do to stare at screens) I know that I’m not alone with this problem.
So, when a trader I know and trust came to me with a trading strategy, that he claimed you could use at any time of day, with no chart-watching (in fact, not even any chart-glancing!) my interest was piqued …
… but I was very cynical.
I kept asking him: Surely there’s a best trading time?
“No, Mark, it’s not about timing the market.”
Can’t I improve on this by adding some technical analysis to pinpoint my entry?
“No, Mark, it’s not about analyzing charts.”
After going around in circles like that for a while, and giving my best “you don’t fool me” raised eyebrow, I figured that I’d try it out for myself.
His results were incredible, and I couldn’t help feeling that there was something else he was doing that he wasn’t telling me about – some subtle nuance that he (as a highly experienced trader with a great “feel” for the markets) was possibly doing unconsciously.
In the period that I tested this, it produced a win rate of over 90%.
You’d think that would be enough to win me over.
Yet I still wasn’t convinced.
It wasn’t just the lack of any formal timing.
There were other things about this trading style that were just too unconventional and off the wall.
The only way to find out for sure, was to put it to a bunch of traders (some with next to no trading experience) to see if they could match his results.
Here’s just a handful of their comments (you can read more on the MRP Strategy review pending page) …
“I opened the demo account last week with £10k. It’s now £10,470.” LW
“Personally I find this the easiest & least stressful strategy I have ever come across & so far it is one that is working! What is great is that you don’t feel the need to be stuck in front of the PC looking at graphs thinking how much could I lose, in fact I haven’t even spent more than 5 minutes looking at a graph because it really doesn’t matter, I just check the price. It is so simple that you question yourself if it can be right.” Tim Smith
“MRP has been very profitable. I have placed 12 trades to w/e 2/11 and 11 have been winners. It seems to be a case of leaving the trades a good few hours at least, overnight usually.” Andy Mansell
“it is without doubt the most unique method I have ever seen on so many levels with regards to simplicity, time to execute and percentages of winning trades.” Alex Cohen
But don’t get me wrong.
Some of the beta testers, like me, have struggled with accepting such a radically different approach to trading …
“First impressions are of uncertainty. That is not to say the strategy has no merit, quite the reverse. Basically it’s the psychology of having to leave behind all that you have been told and using before. Trust in the strategy will, I have no doubt, increase with use, but until then it’s difficult to resistant constantly checking the trades at frequent intervals.” Tony Jones
There’s no arguing with the results this system has produced.
But this doesn’t stop it from being a highly controversial way to trade.
I’m delighted that the beta test has gone so well. And I know that you’ll be chomping at the bit to find out what all the fuss has been about (I know you won’t be disappointed!)
As soon as I’ve collated the data from the 4-week trial, which ends today, I’ll be able to announce a launch date.
Because I’m expecting demand to be so high, the launch date will ONLY be announced to people on the Priority List, so if you haven’t got your name down yet, please ensure it’s down by Monday morning so you don’t miss any important correspondence next week.
